David Ellard is a British actor based in Los Angeles, working across the UK and US. At 6'2" with an athletic background, he brings grounded authority, emotional accessibility and a distinctive comic edge to leading and character roles across drama, action, procedurals and dark comedy.
His recent work includes leading the forthcoming feature dark comedy Paper Crowns as Dale and the award-winning sci-fi action short The Shadow Project opposite Cat Zingano as CIA agent David Poole. On stage, David played closeted Hollywood stuntman Clay in Happy Fall: A Queer Stunt Spectacular, earning praise for a performance described by Stage Scene LA as “terrific and terrifically fit” and by Gia on the Move as “sensitive and emotionally resonant.”
A former semi-professional footballer and physical education teacher, David trained in London at Identity School of Acting and AMAW before continuing his training in Los Angeles with Margie Haber, Lesly Kahn and The Groundlings.
David is a UK citizen, holds a 10-year US Green Card, is SAG-Eligible and is a member of Actors’ Equity.
